The Puptown Candle Companion

A little glow
With somewhere
good to go

The candle in your hand smells good, helps Puptown respond when practical needs arise and has a surprisingly detailed municipal check-in.

See what it’s made of, keep its wick out of trouble, learn where the money goes, return its jar for another shift—or check in your candle.

Puptown Neighborly Glow candle in a clear glass tumbler

Small batch · Neighbor powered

Made for your corner. Meant to help another.

Enjoy the fragrance, let the glow soften your corner, and know that the same little candle helps light a darker corner for somebody else.

What’s in your candle—and what isn’t

A thoughtfully made little candle.

Creamy wax blend

A soft blend of apricot, coconut, soy and paraffin waxes, selected for a smooth finish and strong fragrance performance.

Cotton wick

An all-natural, ring-spun cotton LX wick with a stable, flat-braided structure. The small tab at the bottom is removable when the candle retires.

Carefully chosen fragrance

Vegan and cruelty-free fragrance oils formulated without phthalates, ingredients listed on California Proposition 65, organ toxins or acute toxins. Thoughtful fragrance without unnecessary baggage.

The melt pool may take its time

This soft wax does not need to melt completely to the edge on every burn. A little wax around the sides—or what looks like slight tunneling at first—is normal. As the candle continues working, the softened wax should slide inward and be used. Please do not burn past three hours trying to force it.

Safety briefing · Please remain calm

Keep the wick out of trouble.

Before every burn

Trim the wick to about ¼ inch. Long wicks make tall flames, smoke and bad decisions.

While it’s working

Use a stable, heat-resistant surface away from drafts, children, pets and anything flammable. Keep it where you can see it.

Clock out on time

Burn for no more than three hours at a time. This small 3-inch vessel with soft wax knows when its shift is over. Let it cool before trimming, touching or moving it.

The final ¼ inch

When only ¼ inch of wax remains, the candle has completed its assignment. Stop burning it. No overtime.

What this candle actually does

A little glow with somewhere good to go.

Pick a fragrance you love, and Kevin will make your candle by hand. Buying one also puts him to work: he contributes the materials, equipment, and time, while your purchase helps Puptown respond when a practical need comes along.

Sometimes showing up means a ride, supplies, help with an expense, or a useful connection. We listen first and help where we can.

Price and where the money goes

Your $20 makes Kevin give, too.

$20 totalsales tax included→About $8Kevin covers for materials→What’s leftsupports practical help

$20 total, sales tax included. Kevin pays about $8 for the materials in each candle and brings the equipment and time to make it.

From your $20, we cover the included sales tax and ordinary selling costs, then set aside money for income taxes. What’s left goes toward helping people through Puptown. The amount varies a little from candle to candle.

You get a candle made for you. Kevin puts something of his own into every one.

Optional extra support stays separate from the $20 candle price and may also be subject to required taxes or selling costs.

Smells good. Does good. Keeps it neighborly.

Jar return program

This jar has another shift in it.

When your candle is finished, choose its next career.

Return it

Return. Refill. Relight.

Bring the tumbler and lid back to Puptown. You do not need to clean it, remove the wick or peel off the labels. We’ll inspect it, clean it and get it ready for its next mission.

A usable jar + lid earns $2.50; a usable jar without its lid earns $1.25. Apply the credit to the refill or pass it forward to help a neighbor. Same jar. More light.
Keep it

Give it a desk job.

Keep it for pens, cotton swabs, hair ties, loose change, buttons, dog treats, loose teeth or tiny objects you’re absolutely certain you’ll need someday.

Let it cool completely. Wipe out the soft wax with a paper towel. On a cool jar, use a little rubbing alcohol for residue, far from flames, and let it evaporate completely. Lift the wick tab, peel the labels, then wash with warm, soapy water.

Never pour wax down the drain. Your plumber is not part of this program.

The candle has been working from home

Has it completed enough shifts for a performance review?

Compliments, complaints and neighborhood gossip are welcome. Review this candle and tell the Mayor what fragrances you might enjoy next. No five-paragraph essay required. We’re not grading you. The Fragrance Factory handles actual candle requests.
